Plasticity is defined broadly as ability to learn. Loss of plasticity thus encompasses all possible challenges that could occur during learning. This talk makes an attempt at presenting a more fine-grained categorization of instances of plasticity loss. We also discuss solution strategies for addressing the phenomenon. We conclude with an overview of future directions and a speculation about the plasticity of pre-trained neural networks. </p>
