use collection as parameter for plugin

Can I pass a collection to a plugin as a parameter? Maybe as a config object key? Something like this:

import myPlugin from './plugins/myPlugin.js';

export default function (eleventyConfig) {

  eleventyConfig.addPlugin(myPlugin, {
    myCollection: collectionApi => collectionApi.getFilteredByGlob("src/posts/**/*.*"),
  });

}

But when I try to loop over collection in the plugin code, I get an error: TypeError: myCollection is not iterable.
